About Rolf Lahti and Arctic Circle Experience

I have been selling adventures since 2004 to people who, as I do, like to experience nature in a quiet and peaceful way. I carry out most of the guided tours myself and I always enjoy them just as much as my guests.

Arctic Circle Experience works closely with nature and we avoid being intrusive or harmful. Where possible we use eco-friendly products; locally sourced and organic food, heating, transport, clothing, materials, detergent. Arctic Circle Experience is a member of The Swedish Ecotourism Society.

I was born and bred in Haparanda, where the River Torne runs into the Baltic sea, and since that I was a child, I have been very interested in everything to do with nature; flowers, birds, animals, fish and I still am. I am a biologist and geoscientist, and for more than 10 years I have trained nature guides. I am the chairman of the local Swedish Society for Nature Conservation.

I live with my family, Kerstin and our 11 year old son Jacob, in the small village of Korva, just outside Övertorneå. Arctic Circle Experience and our house are close to the River Torne, the border river with Finland and only 20 km from the continuously moving Arctic Circle. The area along River Torne, Tornedalen, is an area of great beauty and the River Torne itself is protected by law.
